In this lesson we learnt about the importance of authorship and how it can add context to the subject of what is being researched. To be an author is to be the creator of something, but that is not restrained to just books or articles, it extends to art and music also. When researching, the authorship must be taken into consideration when I am developing my own opinions, as some form of bias will often occur even subtlety. This can come from where the original piece was made, an outsider’s perspective may be quite different from someone who has a primary view of the subject. The time that the subject was created is relevant also, as hindsight can blur and warp the truth, and emotions are more easily conveyed when the subject matter is fresh and current.
